Because of the spiritual, emotional, and physical impact from natural and man-caused disasters, Christian men and women are needed to provide leadership within their congregations and in their communities.  The following FREE resources will assist leaders in preparing those individuals and groups within their "spheres of relationships."

Preparing for a major public health crisis as in the pending pandemic influenza is a challenging but attainable task.  This 19-page planning guide has been created as a practical tool for clergy, laity, staff, and others in the faith community.

 

Ready-Pack-Go Campaign (Personal/Family Preparedness)

 

Created by a team comprised from the religious community, Citizen Corps, and others, we designed an "all-hazards" preparedness campaign focused on congregational members.  The material for this initiative includes organizing notes for a house of worship coordinator, ready to use information for display boards, brief content for a bulletin insert, and useful suggestions.

Produced in July 2005 by the (U.K.) Home Office and Cabinet Office, this 48-page publication outlines the religious practices and needs of many different faith groups.  A very practical resource - available in soft copy.

 

Emergency Multilingual Phrasebook

 

With 36 languages contained in its pages, this easy to use phrasebook enhances the interaction with non-English individuals.  It was produced by the British Red Cross Society with the advice and support of the National Health Service.  This publication is available through the British Red Cross Society.
